Most of us would consider a wood bowl to be the most common and used turned item in the kitchen. But we might reconsider our opinion once someone mentions wood-turned spoons. We use spoons or spatulae for almost all cooking!
Spoons are simple to turn and usually require some amount of carving to make a nice bowl shape. Also, the nice part about making your own spoons is that you can choose any type of wood that you like. We also find them to be great gifts. Nobody would turn down a hand-turned spoon!
